SCHOOL COUNSELING EVALUATION & ACCOUNTABILITY
| The Indiana Gold Star School Counseling model evaluates three aspects of the school counseling program: 1) student growth, 2) counselor effectiveness, and 3) program design. The most important evaluation is student growth. Counselors should be able to answer the questions: Are students benefiting from your school counseling program? Can you back up your answer with data? The Indiana Gold Star School Counseling model invites school counselors to evaluate student growth by measuring student mastery of defined guidance indicators, student choices related to school success, and student achievement. An article about the evaluation of school counseling programs may be found in the May 2002 issue of Indianagram published by the Indiana Association of School Principals. |
